HG 1/144 Mr. Bushido's Ahead Part 03

Taking the Advantages
Urrghhh....how long have it been?Guess I do some times overestimate myself,*small laugh*
Having ample time & not using/wasting ample time are two separate thing pal(external monolog).Hmm,give reason(s) will only show excuse(s), so I take this long absent as lackness of my own.
Still, I believe in one thing,
[Act when you still can, that's might be your only chance]

Lets us continue the glory of GUNPLA.^^,
-----------------
Seeing the foil sticker provided, I'd say just let stay there; on the foil sheet. For this kit, I plan to do something better, workmanship-wise. Not(just)because the kit is special, but more to improving my skill. I remember start Gunpla-ing with simple snap fit, OOB kit. No touch-up whatsoever, just pure regard of them as 'toys' instead of figures(how I miss the spring of childhood~). Still,as number of kit I assembled increased, I reach the 'puberty' of this hobby. Details, proportions, colors & poses come to senses...which never occur before.
Wise man says,"necessity creates invention". thus I take this kit as another step stone to fulfill the desires of my Gunpla-manhood.*gendo  pose*
Pre-paint preparation;masking & 'satay-ing'.btw, I use modelling clay instead of blu-tack.
1st layer, somehow the paint seems to be frozen(see the textures), though I paints on a clear day.
After few layers, love the results. Notice how clay & masking tape appears shinier than the intended parts. (More uneven surface=More shine?)

So if someone ask how ones do painting; given the fact that ones live in an apartment with his fellow housemates?

This How
Introducing your public-open air spray booth. An onion basket + ???
come with your self-made 'Shining Finggaaa!!!'

Minutes later,back to workbench:
Separates the unnecessary (yet)
I kinda like this color scheme, gotta use it at one times.
Don't know how its happen, but it's happening.*sob*
Shave the whole surface, followed by light sand.
Glad other parts are fine, only required bit of cleaning using art knife + real touch marker.
The scrapped paint still bug me, so I opt to other paintwork. Paint edges of the shoulder armor, ravine of the thigh piece & inner of the chest armor crest using Mr.Color 9-Gold(Metallic/Primary)

And Now....
remask, repaint, re-demasked
How fitting,I've done great on the repaint, only to discover I ruined the other side(it's fine before). It appear the masking tape I use is too adhesive(?), the paint is actually sticked on it.Dang
I think of repaint, but it's already dark out there. So I took the foil sticker, peel em,& stick em. Same effect, just different method. Me like it.^^
---------------------------
Continue on other parts:
Lesson(1) learned; don't use (coarse) brush to hand-brush a Gundam marker's paint.
Instead, directly applied the marker+stroke perpendicular to large area of the part.
Lesson(2); DO NOT use hardware-get Thinner, you'll melt your kits instead of cleaning excessive paint. Lucky for me the thinner is not too strong,so a series of coarse sanding followed by fine sanding will do the work.*fiuh~*

By now, I'm convinced  that plastic used for Gunpla(exclude ABS plastic)  is somehow made more malleable or rather 'soft'. This is for ease to work with of course, imagine modding your kit with plastic is in par with  pvc pipes.*laugh*
Other than these, I've paint some/minor details on the GN vulvans & shield. So minor that wip pic is an overkill.
-------------
Still got some more:

Part to be paint due to color/part separation; ankle joint, inner elbow, inner feet armor(the 'n' shape thingy) & lower thigh joint.
Use needle file to remove line across the ankle+better surface for painting.

I start with normal Gundam Marker Black GM10 for large area, then use Fine Gundam panel liner GM01 on narrow/restricted area.

By now I'd done all of the major paintwork for the kit as I'd planned. So here're the material I'd been use fo this post.
Well, as long it can do the work, anything do.^^
(just when I upload this pic I realize I forgot to include the black Gundam marker, silly me.)
