One Night Run
I look at the box, stowed in my bookshelves..."something must be done, tonight" I told myself. My initial idea was finish the the heads & its armament, but something inside me tell this whole kit could do another round of
paint job. So you know, gotta listen to your inner selves sometimes.Ha~
So I went into the box, grab my Gundam Markers, & paint with rush+care.
Gundam marker/paint + Itchy hand = scattered gunpla.
Everything arranged, now that's something more review-able.
Onto the Paintwork:
Hightlight the thigh piece with Mr. Hobby Gold, touch-up on action base hardpoint & inboard thigh joint's cavity with Grey marker.
Highlight side of the thigh piece
Test-fit with the pelvis joint/action base hardpoint, which also touched-up with grey marker.
Close-up on the cavity. Too lazy to use toothpick, it'll be covered by the pelvis joint btw.
Paint the inner of the leg armor with grey marker, to emphasize separates/layered armor. Also, grey marker to highlight the soles.
Test-fit,looking nice here. Strangely, black gundam marker has gloss finish, unlike grey marker which has nice flat finish. Same marker series but different type of paint?Hmm...
Close-up on the sole. Only paint area not touching the surface, so they'll be spared from scrapped/chipped.
The chest,but where're the highlight?
Here they are. Basically I use Mr. Color Gold to trace/highlight edge of the entire chestplate.
Test-fit. I can foresee how much will I cherish this kit....likewise, paint the inner armor with grey marker. The depths is indeed preferred,my friends.
Just assembles the rest here
Black portion of the shield is painted....black. No foil stickers thank you~
Knee cap/armor. Not satisfied with previous work on it, paint it's inner with grey marker for sake of cohesive with other armor parts.
Paint the whole eye's cavity & mouth vent/slit black. Yes, you can keep the foil stickers Bandai.
Again, inner armor is GREY,any argument is invalid.
More Mr.Color Gold's highlights. Man, I just love the result^^
Now I can really says that I'm pleased with the result. Tough it's somehow on rush, due to 'just-do-it' attitude I use while doing the paintwork. As for the black marker, a can of top coat can do the trick. So for the time being, just have to be careful when handling the painted part. For the Mr. Color Gold, it teach me lesson of patience...since I have the tendency to straightly apply another layer of the paint when I found inconsistency on the paintwork.(gold reflect light, so you can easily spot uneven paintwork)-->this's one of the rush I talk about.
Ah, before I forgot, here's some eye-candy I catch during photo shoot for this post.
Magnetic Scout Gundam: Ahead Sakigake anyone?
